Any time a group of individuals gather publicly, whether for lawful or unlawful purposes, the response of security and law enforcement personnel may be required. A response may consist of security personnel simply being present to observe and monitor the crowd, or a response may involve engaging in various crowd management strategies. Security personnel are responsible for providing a high level of customer satisfaction by watching to secure environments of assets and people. It is the responsibility of law enforcement to objectively discern at what point a demonstration or gathering leaves the realm of legal protest and infringes on the rights of others. This course will seek to help individuals understand the different types of crowds and learn different types of crowd control techniques.
