Security officers must understand and follow the law at all times. In order to do this, security personnel must have an understanding of the role of the government of the United States, as well as basic concepts for laws and regulations of the land. A security officer must also have a clear understanding of his or her roles and duties in order to prevent confusion, especially during emergency situations. Knowing the liability and legal aspects of the job will help to prevent unnecessary lawsuits, potentially dangerous situations and most importantly, maintain a safe work environment. This course is designed to guide security officers in recognizing their responsibilities, proper code, and regulations in maintaining an effective workplace environment.
